- You need enough culture points, a Residence or Palace at level 10, and three settlers.
- Celebrations in the Town Hall give you a lot of culture points at once.
- You take other players' villages with an administrator, after you knock down their Residence or Palace.
One village is not enough to win. Every new village adds fields, production and an army, which is why expansion becomes every strong player's goal after the first weeks.
Culture points
Every building you build gives you culture points every day, and higher buildings give more. Every new village needs more points than the one before, so start collecting early. You see what you have and what you need in the Residence or Palace.

Celebrations
- Small celebration: from Town Hall level 1, gives 500 points.
- Great celebration: from Town Hall level 10, gives 2000 points, and costs far more.
One celebration per village at a time. A great celebration helps in war too: in your attacking village it adds 5 to what each administrator takes off loyalty, and in the defending village it takes 5 away.
Founding a new village
- Raise the Residence or Palace to level 10.
- Train three settlers.
- Pick an empty spot on the map and send them, with 750 of each resource that the new village starts with.
Each place in the Residence or Palace holds three settlers or one administrator. The Residence opens a place at level 10 and another at 20; the Palace opens one at 10, 15 and 20.
Where to build
- Close to your first village: easy to protect, and resources reach it fast.
- On land with many crop fields: to feed a big army.
- Next to oases: your hero takes them for a production bonus.
Taking other players' villages
Every administrator that arrives in a normal attack and survives lowers the village's loyalty by 20 to 25 (the Roman Senator by 20 to 30). When loyalty reaches zero the village is yours. A raid does not lower loyalty.
For that you need:
- Enough culture points for a new village, and a free place in your attacking village's Residence or Palace.
- The target's Residence or Palace knocked down by catapults first.
- A target that is not its owner's capital, nor their only village.
A village regains loyalty every hour by the level of its Residence or Palace, so send your administrators in waves close together. When you take it, its resources and buildings stay, but its army, research and wall are lost, and every building may lose a level.
